K9 Encounter
Once upon an early summer's night I found myself arriving home at an early hour of the morn, I opened the ridiculously squeaky front door, slowly, trying to make as little noise as possible. I made my way up the stairs. My thoughts focused on not waking my folks, hoping they would remain oblivious to the hour I was arriving home. Much to my surprise I found their bedroom door open and the room itself vacant. Surprised and puzzled at why they, of all people, would be out so late, I continued to my own bedroom. I made my turn around the knoll post toward my door when peering in I could see little in the room itself, but enough. I could see that something was out of place...or seriously in place. All I could make out was a large silhouette, I felt my pupils dilate at the initial shock of the gargantuan shape that was situated on my bed. I caught a glimmer of what appeared to be eyes on the figure. Skeptical but prudent I inched toward my room, I'm not sure what I was thinking it could be, if it were anything but something absurd, why would it be holding so perfectly still? Yet how did something so giant end up in its position? I figured it best to take it slow, just to play it safe. I finally made it to the entrance of the bedroom and a good deal of inching, and quickly flipped the light on. There sat what would soon be known as Hans, a grand prize from an amusement park boardwalk attraction. I had my encounter of the oversized k9 kind...the first of the encounters...
